The History of our Benefice

The process which led to the formation of the Theydon Parishes began over fifteen years ago, when, for the first time, a Priest in Charge was appointed to serve Theydon Bois and Theydon Garnon.

The churches of Stapleford Tawney and Theydon Mount have been working together for as long as anyone living can remember.

In 2017, the parishes were united as the Benefice which became know as the Theydon Parishes and the first Vicar was appointed.  Since that time, the parishes have been working together with a common set of core values, "Faith, love and community" which are expressed differently in the differing contexts of each parish.
